Planning ahead and handling the first days after a loss are two sides of the same job. This set pairs our Just in Case Binder, which parents and adult children fill in together, with the First 72 Hours checklist the family uses when the time comes.
Both use the same large-print Helping Hands design and point to free official sources.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two printables in this set?
The Just in Case Binder is filled in ahead of time. It records contacts, where papers and keys are kept, money, insurance, and wishes. The First 72 Hours checklist is used after a death. It lists who to call, what to ask the funeral home, and what to do with certificates, Social Security, and mail.
Do I save money buying the Before and After Family Set?
Yes. The set costs less than buying the Just in Case Binder and the First 72 Hours checklist separately, and you get both in one download. If you already own one of them, buying only the other one is the better choice. Current prices for each are shown in our shop and on Gumroad.
Is the Before and After Family Set a physical product?
No. The Before and After Family Set is a digital PDF download (2 PDFs, 43 pages, US Letter size). Nothing is shipped to you. After you buy on Gumroad, your download link is ready right away by email. You print it at home or at a copy shop and keep it in a binder or folder.
Can I type into the PDF or do I fill it in by hand?
You fill it in by hand. Our kits are print-and-write PDFs with large, roomy lines, not fillable forms. Many families find that writing by hand at the kitchen table is faster and easier to share. Print in color or black and white, at 100% (Actual Size) on US Letter paper.
How do I download my file after buying on Gumroad?
Open the Gumroad receipt email and click the download link, or sign in at gumroad.com and open your Library. A computer browser is usually easiest for opening PDFs. If anything will not open, reply to the receipt email and we will help you get it.
Can I print more than one copy for my family?
Yes. You can print as many copies as your own household needs, for example a spare for the fridge, the car, or a family member who helps out. The file is for personal and family use, so please do not resell it, share it publicly, or hand out copies to other households.
Please note: This printable is an organizational and educational tool only. It is not a will, trust, power of attorney, advance directive, or any legal document, and it is not legal, medical, financial, tax, insurance, or funeral advice. Rules vary by state and change over time, so confirm them on the official sites linked inside.
